Why It's Important To Support The Middle

"We might be on the brink of an apocalypse if, instead of poor people with suicide bombs killing middle class guys, middle-class people with suicide bombs started killing rich guys,"
-Bruce Sterling.

CAMOUFLAGE SHIRTS have become the next fashion statement. The men pictured above ARE not door to door salesmen. Are the wealthy in this country so ignorant that they can not see the THE NEXT fascist step in our country's political future? Are they unaware that German hunters in the 1930s wore BROWN SHIRTS? Will this country's wealthy elite wake up in time?

All of the above are solid reasons to support the middle. A country that refuses to support its middle class creates a wolf pack that believes it's starving. Having seen its ecosystem (job, home, and family) destroyed, and its territory (education, income, and hope) depleted, the wolf begins to range outside its habitat. Beware, they hunt in packs, and their teeth are long.

Modern history has proven that the shift from democracy to fascism begins when the middle class can't pay its bills, which is usually the result of fighting wars the society can't or won't pay for. Then, the middle class can't or won't pay their taxes. They begin to search in earnest for a savior, and they're willing to back up their howls and cries with unruly pack (mob--i.e. Tea Party) behavior and they're long teeth (guns and ammo--i.e. yep, the gun store shelves are empty). Woe to minorities because they will become the constant sacrifice their "pack leader" (savior--i.e. Hitler) demands of their allegiance.

Can this be alleviated? It depends upon whether the wealthy can or will pay the bills. This country is deep in debt due to a costly two front war that was really fought to maintain protection for our country's energy supply. We all rely on this energy supply, but only the wealthy are capable of paying the bill for its protection. An intelligent wealthy class would also be searching for alternative domestic controlled energy solutions, quickly, because the wolf pack will not continue to give up its pups to the cause of oil protection forever.

It seems that this fella President O'bama is suggesting the exact solutions that I've proposed above. If the wealthy refuse to listen. If they can't step outside of their greedy bubble, or if, God forbid, they can not generate the wealth to pay the bill, then apocalypse (for this country, anyway) looks inevitable.

I hope I'm wrong, but then, I'm a member of the middle class, and I'm losing hope day by day.

Camouflage shirts are the next brown shirts? Have we become the bad guys? How will Holywood portray the next fascist movement? And, who will control Hollywood? Hmmm.

Brett Favre The Elder Viking

How old is too old? Brett Favre is experienced and intense. He is spirited and courageous. What makes Brett Favre make big plays? He is not afraid to fail!

Where does the desire to keep playing professional football at the top NFL level come from? How does Brett Favre maintain the skill to be one of the best NFL football quarterbacks at the age of 40? Favre is football personified and many pundits who have never lead an NFL team to victory will argue over his results over the years. They expound on his flaws. They can't even throw a spiral or focus through pain or end of game decision choices. Yet they blather on.

Hoarse Cow votes Brett Favre into the NFL Hall Of Fame the first year he is eligible and hope he plays as long as he enjoys the game! The love of the game of football and the desire to make the play in every game is what makes great players. Brett Favre is
is consistently great in victory or defeat and his confidence in players on his team makes his team play better. It has been a fun ride!

You Can't Always Get What You Want

What could a bison know about Obama? This bison knows there are many ways his first year could have been improved. Firstly his own Democratic Party partners could have broke down the National Health Care Plan into smaller logical parts and paid closer attention to the need for job growth. Just amazing to watch the United States Congress grind the country into the ground with their vision. We have been ignored again. The parties like to alternate. Republicans disappoint, then Democrats, always taking care of themselves. How do we solve the Congressional gridlock? It just leaves one with massive heartburn knowing that the United States has so much potential and lacks total ability to work out plans to help our country succeed in so many important areas of life. Maybe Hoarse Cow could give President Obama lessons in herding. Then again Obama knows games and for one year into the big game of running the United States he has showed composure and respect for the citizens of the United States and the rest of the World. In 1 year Obama reduced the arrogance of the previous 8 years. It is interesting the Republicans have short memories of the Bush years failures. Satisfaction is not always quick. Short term need for satisfaction is killing this country by the minute. Obama is resolved to create the United States with valuable human rights for all. What will Congress do to create a better country for the citizens of the United States?

Hoarse Cow Weekend

It is Friday and I am Hoarse Cow. My new television is being delivered today. I hope to have it installed in time for the Super Bowl! I had the Cowboys and Red Bird had the Cardinals until they both lost in the playoffs. So now I have the Vikings and Red Bird is betting on the Colts. Friendly wagers of course.
